Travel insurance

Tiger Airways strongly recommends that all passengers take out adequate personal travel insurance to cover all aspects of your journey.

Tiger Purrtection travel insurance is exclusively designed for Tiger Airways passengers departing from Singapore to offer the lowest possible premiums with reliable travel protection. Policies can only be purchased online at the point of booking for passengers between 2 to 75 years of age. Infant below 2 years travelling with an insured adult passenger will enjoy limited free coverage.

Once insurance is activated, it is non-changeable, non-cancellable and non-refundable. The policy will cover you while you are in your Tiger Airways destinations only. Coverage will cease once you leave the destination for any connecting flights or journeys. Tiger Purrtection policy holders may wish to upgrade to a more comprehensive plan such as Chartis to ensure coverage for extended journeys.

In the event of a schedule change by Tiger Airways, Tiger Purrtection policy plans will automatically extend its coverage to the rescheduled departure time up to a maximum of 3 (three) days provided the travel period does not exceed 31 days from date of departure.

Tiger Airways can issue letters to support travel insurance claims for flight cancellations or disruptions. Please contact the Tiger Airways call center for more information, contact details can be found above. Insurance letters are supplied free of charge where Tiger Airways is responsible for a flight cancellation or delay, or where the request is following a medical condition or a bereavement and the request is supported by appropriate documentation. All other requests for travel insurance letters will be charged at S$10.00 or A$10.00 (or local currency equivalent) per letter, payable by the passenger at the time of the request.
